The HSA performs two primary functions: fundraising and enrichment. HSA’s fundraising efforts account for 17% of the school’s budget. Those funds provide support for ski club, athletic teams, sports night and more. HSA also puts on the events at the school that provide a sense of community and fellowship like the Back to School BBQ, Special Persons Lunch, Halloween Party, and other family events.
Our annual events are listed below.
Please watch your email for opportunities to volunteer for all the events that make a Nativity education more fulfilling for our students.
Back to School BBQ
Oktoberfest: Our biggest fundraiser includes a traditional Oktoberfest meal and beverages, live music, and basket and silent auctions. This adult-only event is a lot of fun for the school and parish.
Halloween Party: Student Party in the gym. This party is for students and their families. There will be music, games, crafts, pizza, snacks, prizes and a costume contest.
Fall Sale: Nativity families and friends can purchase wrapping paper, cookie dough, and other gift items. Purchases will be delivered to the school.
Elves’ Magic Workshop: Held during the school day, students can shop and purchase Christmas gifts for family and loved ones. Most items run between $3 and $10.
Holiday Teacher & Staff Luncheon: Prior to Christmas break, the HSA organizes a luncheon to show our appreciation to the teachers.
School Open House: Nativity opens its doors to prospective parents to show them what we’re all about. We need parents to act as tour guides and answer questions prospective families have. Light refreshments and decorations are also needed.
Special Persons’ Lunch: Held during Catholic Schools Week. Students can bring a special person (mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle, neighbor, etc.) to their regular lunch period. Students and guests can bring lunch or order from a special menu.
Easter Candy Sales
Fish Fry Dinner
Casino Fun Night: Join us at the school for a fun evening of games played with chips and the chance to win prizes. There will also be auction items, food, music and more. Everyone in the community is invited!
Father/Daughter Dance: This nice evening for dads and daughters features a DJ, decorations, some snacks and a photo booth. It’s not to be missed!
Teacher Appreciation Week, including an end-of-year luncheon given by the HSA.
Chase the Sun 5K Run: This 5K race occurs on or close to the summer solstice. Planning begins approximately 6 months in advance. The race is followed by a family-friendly party including food, drinks, and prizes for top finishers.
Winter or Spring Events (timing can be flexible):
Father/Son Field Day
Scrip: Gift cards to major national and local retailers are sold year-round. When you buy one, you receive the full value of the card, and a percentage of the value is donated to Nativity. Gift cards may be purchased online at shopwithscrip.com, in person at the school on Tuesday mornings, or sent home with your children.
Box Tops: Save all of those Box Tops! We collect Box Tops throughout the school year.
Snack Shack: We work to run the concession stand in the gym for most sporting events. Co-chairs are responsible for stocking the stand with donated food and beverages, setting prices, and scheduling volunteers.
Athletic Directors: These parent volunteers teach skills, teamwork, and good sportsmanship while promoting school spirit. In addition to organizing the coaching staff, the Athletic Directors assist with the organization of the Joe DeMarco Basketball Tournament (January-February), which funds our sports teams. The Athletic Directors also help with the year-end sports banquet.
Homeroom Parents: Homeroom parents work with their respective teachers to plan support for field trips, classroom activities, and special events for the school year. Elementary grades have two homeroom parents; junior high grades have one. Homeroom parents also coordinate gifts for teachers during the holidays and at the end of the school year.
